Did you know that 100% of the money from community fundraising activities by the Vacaville Rotary goes back into the local community? All of the national and international donations and administrative costs are funded through other activities and sources. Each year Vacaville Rotary Club has many fundraisers, awards and events:

YEARLY FUNDRAISERS, AWARDS & EVENTS
- Scholarships
Over 15 scholarships to deserving high school seniors will be awarded each year. $20,000 awarded annually to local public and private schools open to all students. The
Rico and Vinson family scholarships are administered by the Vacaville Rotary.
- Assistance to Senior Task Force
$10,000 contributed to help with preventing financial abuse of seniors. This group trains law enforcement and financial people to identify signs of potential abuse that need to be reported and investigated to a further degree.
- Camp Royal Sponsorship
Each year we sponsor 2 students to attend Camp Royal
- Student & Teacher of the Year Awards
Every year, for each high school and middle school,an outstanding teacher and student are recognized. An Award Certificate, lunch, and financial award are provided.
- Annual City of Vacaville Spelling Bee
Spelling competition for both elementary and middle school students.
- Annual Student Chess Tournament
- Four-Way Speech Contest
Based upon the "Code of Conduct" followed by Rotarians, this contest will allow high school students to compete and enhance their public speaking skills.
- District Conference
- Rotarians for Reading
In its 4th year, this project provides scholastic books for 1st and 2nd graders, with dictionaries for 3rd graders.
- Mervyn's Shopping Spree
Working with the Red Cross and other organizations, underprivileged children are provided $100 worth of items for back to school clothes and needed items. The students also are provided a breakfast and backpack full of school supplies.
- Book Donation
A book is donated to the local library each week as a thank you for that week's speaker.
- Playground Maps
Our Rotarians sponsor and volunteer to paint maps on local school grounds, helping educate our youth in geography.
- Gotcha Program
Rotary provides financial support for a day of recognition to students who have made significant improvements in their grades.
- Camp Venture
At least one student per year sponsored for a 2 to 3 days at the Maritime Academy in Vallejo. Students learn to develop a business model and plan.
- Shelter Boxes
Our club has funded these temporary shelters to help with housing of displaced people in areas of the world that are experiencing famine, drought, and other large-scale emergencies.
- Underpriviledged Children's Rodeo
Rotary provided ability for local underprivileged children to spend a day riding horses and learning about rodeo activities.
- Meals On Wheels
Rotary helps with delivering meals to seniors who cannot provide for themselves.
- Dixon May Fair
Rotarians provide escorts and help with disabled children at the fair.
- Adopt a Troop
Rotary sends care packages to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- Night of Honor
Rotary sponsors a table supporting the local firefighters and police officers.
